medicine consider that the foundation of emaciation is feebleness of the five organs, and the indexes are no abstinence on diet, hobby on obesity and sweet flavour, fat body, emotion disordering, depression, anger, melancholy, anxiety, inordinate fatigue and desire, no abstinence on sexual life, etc. The main affected visceras are lung, spleen and stomach, kidney , hepar. Thereinto, kidney is cardinal, spleen is critical, hepar is regulative. With a strengthened spleen the body fluid can generate freely, heart and kidney can mediate each other. if the energy of spleen is deficient all kinds of diseases will occur. If hepar's function of dispersion is anomaly, the sweeping function of lung ,transport and conversion of spleen, opening and closing of kidney will be affected. Deficiency of yin is the foundation of emaciation, dryness heat is the index, the foundation of deficiency is the kidney deficiency, in the latter the deficiency of yin is constant. In the anaphase of emaciation patient or the debility elder, the deficiency of yin will impact yang, as will result in the deficiency of both yin and yang of kidney. So Chinese traditional medicine's view on the management of diabetes focus on enriching the yin of lidney and warming the yang of kidney, strengthening spleen, nourishing energy, clearing away the heat-evil, stimulating circulation to end stasis, relieving anxiety.
